As an always obese child, and mostly an overweight adult, I have finally decided to take control of my life. Not just in terms of losing the weight, but in terms of eating healthy, enjoying the journey and living my life to the fullest.
I’ve tried plenty of diets before, only to give up halfway and revert back to my old ways. This time, something seems different. I have never stuck with anything for as long as I have, with weight watchers, this time around. As cliche as it may sound, it does not seem like a “diet” to me anymore, it’s more of a lifestyle. I eat healthy for most parts, I slip up some days, and then I get back to routine. I’m still eating pizzas and ice creams; the only difference is that I’m eating less of it.
I’m in my late 20s and I cannot believe how I have never thought of food the way I do now. Right now, I want to eat food not only for its taste but also for the nutrition it provides to my body. As much as I want to get to a normal BMI, I also want to do it the right way. I’m not looking for shortcuts. I know changes take a long time, and I’m willing to commit to it until I get to where I want to be.
If you’re going through the same struggles, you’re more than welcome to join me on my journey to losing weight, and living healthfully. You can give your life as much, or as little, of your literal weight, but giving your life the importance it deserves, will not only make you happy, but it will also make you appreciate yourself more.
